Curly parsley is a decorative and flavorful herb with tightly curled leaves and a mild, fresh taste. It’s used as a garnish as well as in both hot and cold dishes – and it grows easily in Auk!

In short:

  • Sow 20–40 seeds per pot.

  • Germinates in 5–12 days with stable warmth.

  • Ready for harvest after 4–6 weeks.

  • Can live for several months in Auk with regular trimming and good care.

  • Perfect for both indoor growing and seed starting.

Sow 20–40 seeds and press them gently into the coconut fiber

Here’s how to do it:

  • Fill the pots with coconut fiber (one pack is enough for all pots).

  • Spread the seeds evenly on the surface of the fiber.

  • Press them gently into the fiber.

  • Seeds will sprout in 5–12 days at 20–24°C / 68–75 °F.

Start harvesting after 4–6 weeks (cut full stems from the outer part of the plant, and leave smaller leaves to grow)

Curly parsley will keep producing if harvested correctly:

  • Cut stems 5–10 cm above the coconut fiber and leave smaller leaves to continue growing.

  • Always harvest the outer leaves first to let light and space reach new growth in the center.

  • Remove any wilted or yellowing leaves regularly.

  • Never harvest more than ⅓ of the plant at a time.

💡 Frequent harvesting encourages more growth and improves flavor and form.

Trim regularly and avoid flowering to extend the harvest

With the right temperature and harvesting routine, curly parsley can live for several months in Auk! Eventually, the plant may attempt to flower, which can make the leaves bitter and less flavorful.

To avoid flowering:

  • Harvest and trim regularly to keep the plant in a leafy growth stage.

  • If you see signs of flowering, cut the whole stem with the flower bud – this helps prolong the plant’s lifespan.

Start in Auk and repot outdoors after 4–6 weeks (when it’s 8–10°C / 46–50 °F or warmer)

Want to grow curly parsley outside? Start it in Auk and repot later.

  • After 4–6 weeks, you can move the plant to a larger pot or garden bed.

  • Make sure nighttime temperatures are consistently above 8–10°C / 46–50 °F.

  • Curly parsley likes sun or partial shade and can tolerate cooler weather better than many other herbs.

Fun fact 🌿

Curly parsley has been found to contain more chlorophyll than flat-leaf parsley – giving it a deeper, richer green color. Plus, its curly leaves hold their texture and color well when used as garnish or in warm dishes.

Good luck and enjoy your growing! 💚
