Coriander is an aromatic and versatile herb used for both its fresh leaves and flavorful seeds. It's perfect for everything from Asian and Latin American dishes to soups and dressings.

In short:

  • Sow 20–30 seeds per pot.

  • You’ll see sprouts after 4–7 days.

  • Coriander is ready for harvest after 4–8 weeks, depending on temperature and light.

  • Can live for several months in Auk with regular trimming and good care.

Sow 20–30 seeds and press them gently into the coconut fiber

Here’s how to do it:

  • Fill the pots with coconut fiber (one pack is enough for all the pots).

  • Spread the seeds evenly across the surface.

  • Press them lightly into the fiber.

  • Seeds will sprout in 4–7 days at 20–24 °C / 68–75 °F.

Start harvesting after 4–8 weeks (cut full stems and let new ones grow in)

Coriander grows long, thin stems with feathery leaves that can be harvested regularly:

  • Cut full stems 5–10 cm above the fiber.

  • Always harvest the largest leaves first, and let small leaves and shoots continue growing.

  • Remove any yellow or wilted leaves to keep the plant healthy and stimulate new growth.

  • Never harvest more than ⅓ of the plant at a time.

💡 Regular harvesting makes the plant bushier and extends its life.

Trim regularly and prevent flowering to enjoy coriander for months

Coriander tends to bolt quickly, especially in warm weather – when this happens, the flavor changes and the plant starts producing seeds.

To prevent flowering, we recommend:

  • Harvesting frequently.

  • Avoid leaving the plant untrimmed for long periods.

  • Cut off any flower stalks as soon as they appear.

Fun fact 🌿

To some people, coriander tastes like soap! This is due to a gene that makes certain individuals more sensitive to a specific compound in the leaves – a fun reminder that taste can actually be genetic!

Good luck and enjoy your growing! 💚
