Congratulations on your Auk Mini 2! Follow the guide below to set up your Auk and plant your first seeds.
Step 1: Fill the pots with coco fiber
Fill each pot to the top with the coco fiber included in the box.
💡 Tip: Place the pots on one of the cardboard inserts from the box while you work to keep things tidy.
Step 2: Sow your seeds
Always check the instructions on your seed packet before sowing, as different plants have different needs.
One seed bag is enough for 2 pots, and each seed package has instructions on how to sow.
Here’s how to sow basil and parsley – spread the seeds evenly in each pot and cover them with coco fiber.
Step 3: Add Top Layer
Spread the top layer evenly across the pots until the coco fiber is fully covered. Use the entire box.
The top layer helps create optimal growing conditions over time.
Step 4: Assemble your Auk
Choose a spot for your Auk.
1. Insert the power cable
Lift the base and thread the cable through the hole (on the opposite side of the water lid).
2. Insert the wooden sticks and pots
Insert the wooden sticks into the holes on each side and put the pots back in your Auk.
3. Attach the plant light
Slide the light bar onto the sticks.
4. Adjust the light and plug in your Auk
Place the light approximately 15 cm / 6 inches above the pots (it doesn't have to be exact 😊).
Connect the USB cable to the light, and plug your Auk into a power outlet.
💡 As your plants grow, simply move the light upwards.
Step 5: Add water and nutrients
Fill water until the indicator shows max (the large, white dot):
It takes approx. 3L / 0.8 gal.
Add nutrients – 6 pumps of Grow and 6 pumps of Flavour:
Every time you add water, remember to add nutrients as well.
For later: When the water indicator turns red, it’s time to refill water and nutrients.
That’s it – your Auk will take care of the rest 😊
Good to know
💡 The light automatically follows a 16/8 cycle: 16 hours on and 8 hours off.
The cycle starts when you plug in your Auk. Want to change it? Press the power button for 5 seconds at the time you want the light to turn on.
🌱 Not all herbs sprout at the same pace
Some plants sprout quickly, such as basil, while others take a little longer. Parsley, for example, can take up to 2 weeks. Don't worry – this is completely normal. Most herbs are ready to harvest after 4–6 weeks. 😊
