How to control the light – Auk Mini 2

You can control the grow light directly on the light bar or in the Auk App. Here's how it works💡

Written by Elena

You can control everything with 2 buttons:

Power button:

  • Set the light schedule (when the light turns on)

  • Dim the light

  • Turn the light on and off

Mode button:

  • Switch between growth modes (herbs & salads, fruits & veggies, and slow mode)

Set the light schedule by pressing the power button for 5 sec

The light automatically follows a 16/8 cycle:

  • 16 hours on

  • 8 hours off

The cycle starts from the moment you plug in your Auk.

Press the power button for 5 seconds at the time you want the light to turn on. From the next day, your Auk will follow the new schedule.

You can also adjust the schedule at any time in the Auk App.

Adjust the brightness with the power button

You can temporarily dim or turn off the light using the power button.

  1. Press once to dim the light

  2. Press again to turn the light off

  3. Press once more to turn the light back on

💡 The next day, the light will automatically return to normal brightness.

Change the growth mode with the mode button

You can choose between three different growth modes depending on what you're growing. It automatically starts in Herbs & Salads mode when you plug it in for the first time.

  • Press once to see which mode is active

  • Press once more to switch to the next mode

The indicator light on top of the light bar shows which mode is selected

🟢 Herbs & salads

Standard mode for herbs and leafy greens.

🟠 Fruit & veggies

Gives your plants extra energy for flowering and fruit production. Use this mode when your vegetable plants begin to flower, usually after around 5 weeks.

Ideal for tomatoes, chili peppers, bell peppers, and cucumbers.

🔵 Slow Mode

Slows growth and reduces water consumption. Perfect if you're travelling or simply want your plants to grow a bit slower.

Control the light in the Auk App

With the Auk app, you can:

  • Change the growth mode

  • Adjust the light schedule

  • Explore growing tips and recipes

  • Contact support directly

Extra tip: Raise the light as your plants grow

For best results, keep the light about 15 cm / 6 inches above the plants. As your plants grow, simply move the light upwards to keep roughly the same distance.
